San Francisco psychedelic rock band ASSEMBLE HEAD IN SUNBURST SOUND will release its long-awaited new album Manzanita on June 19. Described by the band as "jangly and fuzzy and spacey and contemplative" and a record that "conjures the feelings of sitting on a hill on Saturday at sunset and considering everything that's great and beautiful and fucked up all at once," the record features nine colorful tracks of AHISS' kick ass Cali-psych.
Recorded in Grass Valley, CA's Louder Studios (Howlin Rain, Melvins), 'Manzanita' is the follow up to the band's 2009 release 'When Sweet Sleep Returned' which was called "a fascinating blend of post-apocalyptic dread and blissed-out reverie" by Pitchfork and "space-traveling fuzzbox boogie" by the San Francisco Bay Guardian. 'Manzanita' is available for pre-order now at this location.
In addition, AHISS will play a couple of shows at the end of June and July. Click here to see the dates.
