T.H.U.M.B. (Lunar Flight EP) MCD
Close up your third eye, these Italians have come to loot your brain cells and blow your mind. Released by W.uck Records, T.H.U.M.B. are three persons who set their controls for the heart of the universe and in their studio thyme capsule, somewhere beyond the open space of Hawkwind, cast this space rock hymns! Prime cuts include "Lunar Flight" and "Magic Drug" - two psychoactive acid rockers that are almost turned inside out by the blazing guitar work contained within. T.H.U.M.B. adds some swirling syntheziser lines where necessary and the result is a very tight, entertaining ensemble. "Kobal, the Eggman from Venus" is more like a psyched-out intermezzo with lysergic spoken vocals, while "Wasted Words" is another strong and catchy songs here, ensure that this disc never strays far from my player. The raunchy produced sound gives a 60's garage-like atmosphere to the sound and fits perfectly for my taste. T.H.U.M.B. completely has its shit together, actually and I know I'll be playing this disc for a long, long time. Space is the place - will you follow?
